    Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide

    Description

A vasoactive peptide with broad physiological effects including vasodilation, immune modulation, and neuroprotection.

    Dose:50 mcg
    Frequency:Daily (8 weeks on/off cycle)
    Administration Method: IN
    CategoryImmunity
Half-LifeApproximately 1-2 minutes in plasma due to rapid peptidase degradation.

    Overview

Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP) is an endogenous neuropeptide with broad effects on the cardiovascular, GI, immune, and nervous systems. It promotes vasodilation, downregulates Th1/Th17 inflammatory responses, and supports neuroprotection. Clinical and preclinical studies have explored VIP for autoimmune encephalomyelitis, colitis, pulmonary hypertension, and sarcoidosis.

    Mechanism of Action

28-amino-acid neuropeptide of the secretin/glucagon family; binds VPAC1 and VPAC2 G-protein-coupled receptors, raising cAMP. Produces vasodilation, smooth muscle relaxation, immune modulation, and anti-inflammatory effects.
